Evidence that a visit happened where it was supposed to
Medicaid programs in most states require electronic visit verification, but the requirement varies by state and waiver. CareMandate treats EVV as a configurable module: capture arrival, departure, and location on the caregiver's phone, and record why a check did not match when one does not.
See how EVV is configuredThree checks on every visit
Time alone does not prove a visit and location alone does not prove the care. Verifying both, and recording the reason when either fails, is what makes the record defensible.
- Arrival and departure timestamps
- Clock-in and clock-out captured on the device, not estimated from the schedule.
- Geofence verification
- Distance from the check-in point to the authorized service address is calculated directly, so a wide radius cannot quietly absorb a wrong address.
- Exception reasons
- A failed check requires a reason and reaches a supervisor. Unexplained exceptions are the ones that become findings.
What the caregiver actually carries
Verification that adds steps without reducing follow-up just moves the problem. The field view is built to be completed in a client's home, on a phone, in poor signal.
- Single field pass
- Check-in, care activities, eMAR, and progress notes captured in one flow rather than separate screens.
- Lone worker safety
- Welfare checks and an emergency escalation path for staff working alone.
- Identity at both ends
- Confirms which caregiver is with which client, which matters when a note is contested.
- Satisfies pre-claim rules
- Verified visits automatically clear the billing validation that depends on them.
